A highlight of my professional career has been the year I spent as Company Manager for the Toronto production of The Phantom of Opera. The Toronto production of The Phantom of the Opera was at the Pantages Theatre on Victoria Street, now known as the Ed Mirvish Theatre.
Despite the grueling hours (9 to 5 at the administration office plus 8 shows a week at the theatre) I loved everything about it - the stage craft, the people, the technical aspects, the costumes, the music. Being backstage for a production of this size was an endlessly fascinating experience. What took me away from it? Maternity leave! (another endlessly fascinating experience!)
